When I started this newsletter on Substack, I had a large back stock of silly poems that I was having a hard time finding a home for. There are not many journals that call for humorous poems, and those that do are looking for different kinds of humor.
I do have a few left. And I have some serious poems left, but I would rather save those to try and get published in the serious type of magazine that doesn’t want my silly poems. (I need to write more of these, too, to have more out on submission.)
What I want to do is to spend this weekend writing a mess of silly poems. You can help me by sending me topics or things to write about. Chihuahua dog sled racers was from a friend, as a challenge, and created one of my favorite poems yet. Or, if you don’t have a challenge, you can just say write a poem about a maple tree, because you were looking out the window at one.
Please, send me ideas in the comments. Or you can DM me.
On another topic, I am eagerly looking forward to getting a new, real office chair. I didn’t get into the Clarion West workshop. But, we had been saving money for it. I promised myself that if I didn’t get into it, I would buy myself a nice office chair with some of the money that was saved to pay for the workshop.
Online searches narrowed it down to the best faux-leather deep-comfort chair and the best plastic-screened stay-cool circulation chair. I went for deep-comfort - it has an ice pack included that I can insert in the chair if it gets too hot! The chair comes on Monday! I am soooo looking forward to being able to sit at the computer for longer times. (Read that as being able to play games.)
I promise a picture when it’s all assembled and stuff. There likely will be a cat in the picture.

I walked Jose with toilet paper hanging out the back of my pants. This is no joke. It happened. If you use it, don't name me.
